Since the 1991 motorsport season, Misano has hosted the traditional race of the Superbike world championship on this track, since 2007 the Grand Prix of San Marino and the Rimini Riviera of the MotoGP world championship and since 2018 the Italian round of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters; in 2020 and 2021 exceptionally it also hosts the Emilia Romagna and Rimini Riviera motorcycle Grand Prix, also valid for the world championship.

Valentino Rossi, the historic Italian motorcyclist, competed at Misano for the last time before retiring from the 2021 edition.
